Divine praise for those who are pleased with God

SHAFAQNA – Ayahs 27 and 28 of Surah Al-Fajr say: “O’ tranquil soul, return (today) to your God; as you are satisfied (with Allah (SWT)) and your God is pleased with you.” God praises those who are satisfied with Allah (SWT); the Almighty is also pleased with them. When you look at our Imams, for example Imam Hussain (AS) on the morning of day of his martyrdom when he was sure he would be killed, did not complain for a simple second and said: I am satisfied.

Lady Zainab (AS) made several speeches but never said: I am the mother of two martyrs; she only spoke about the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and Ahlul Bait (AS). We have a Lady like Hazrat Zainab (AS) who is the mother of two martyrs in Karbala, two of her brothers martyred, 18 of her relatives martyred but she said: I am satisfied.

Then we have our daughter whom when she is asked to remove her nail varnish for the sake of God and Salaat, she refuses. For one person, nail varnish is important whilst for another giving 18 martyrs (for God’s sake) is not important. As is mentioned in Ayah 31 of Surah Al-Hajj, if someone is separated from God, is like he has fallen out of the sky and is not clear where the birds will take him.
