SHAFAQNA – A human being must always seek self-respect and avoid indignity. Imam Hussain (AS) gave his life to aovid the indignity of living under Yazid’s unjust rule. In Ayah 8 of Surah Al-Monafeqoon, Allah (SWT) praises those believers who are under the guardianship of God, obey the Supreme Being, the Prophet (PBUH) and seek honourable life. Honour and dignity belong to God and cannot be attained outside the obedience of Allah (SWT) as confirmed in Ayah 139 of Surah Al-Nesa, Ayah 65 of Surah Al-Yunus and Ayah 10 of Surah Al-Faatir.
