Dua and sustenance

SHAFAQNA – A man came to Imam Sadeq (AS) with excitement and anxiety and said: Pray (Dua) for me so that God increases my sustenance because I am poor and needy. Imam Sadeq (AS) said: I will never do so. That man asked: why you do not want to pray for me? Imam (AS) replied: Because Allah (SWT) has specified a way to this affair; God has ordered that the sustenance must be sought and earned. But you want to sit at home and with Dua bring the sustenance to your house [1].
