Egypt bans Holywood film ‘Exodus’ due to ‘historical inaccuracies’

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – Egyptian authorities have banned the Hollywood film “Exodus: Gods and Kings” due to “historical inaccuracies.” Egypt’s Cultural Minister said the film is full of mistakes, including an claim that “Moses and the Jews built the pyramids. The film is also said to explain the parting of the Red Sea as a “tidal phenomenon” rather than a divine miracle.

It is reported that Morocco has also banned the film. “Exodus” has also upset some Christian groups. Critics say the makers of the film have taken too many liberties with the Bible and cast Western actors in Middle East roles.
