EU new demand to open an office in Tehran

SHAFAQNA- The head of National Security and Foreign Affairs Committee in Iran Parliment said European Union has proposed a new demand to open an office in Tehran.

Heshmatollah Fallahatpishe, addressing the session held in committee with 26 European ambassadors, told Tasniam that Austria’s ambassador who is the head of EU rotating presidency and other European ambassadors proposed to open an office in Tehran.

“The ambassadors suggested their proposal because they want to have an office in Iran like other countries”, he underlined.

Head of National Security and Foreign Affairs Committee in Iran Parliment said “this proposal has historical precedent”, adding that “but of course it should be considered carefully.”

“We expressed our concerns to European ambassadors and it should be taken into account in a Supplemental protocol”, Falahatpishe noted, adding that the proposal is sent to Ministry of Foreign Affairs for further considerations.
