EXCLUSIVE Yemen Nobel Peace prize laureate calls for more bombs – outrage in Yemen

SHAFAQNA – Yemen 2011 Nobel Peace prize laureate, Tawakkul Karman has called on social media for an intensification of all military efforts against the Houthis, arguing “Yemen needs to be cleansed from the Shia group.”
This is the second time since the beginning of the war in Yemen – March 25, 2015 – that Karman who is currently staying in Saudi Arabia has called for war against her country.
Needless to say that her comments have angered Yemenis throughout the country. Activists have said that such clear “fuellin of sectarian hatred are despicable coming from an acclaimed peace activist.”
Yemenis have already arranged a petition to see Karman stripped of her title.

“At such a time when so Yemenis have found themselves caught in a war zone, abandoned by the international community, such calls for more violence only prove Karman’s profound disregard for life,” said Sara Abu Salem a rights activist in Sana’a, the Yemeni capital.
