SHAFAQNA- “The tensions in the region or other international issues can not affect the relations between the two countries of Iran and Iraq, because political links and wills expand these influential relations,” Siamak Kakaei , an expert on West Asian issues said, believing that Iraq seeks for a new foreign relationship.
Referring to the travel of the Iraqi president Barham Salih to the region, Kakaei told Shafaqna, “Salih’s visit to the neighboring countries of Iraq shows that the country is looking for a new era of its foreign relations .Meanwhile, Salih’s visit to Iran and talks and meetings with senior Iranian officials highlighted the high level of Iran-Iraqi relations, as well as the political willing based on the expansion of relations between the two countries”.
Emphasizing on Iran-Iraq deep relationship, the expert stressed that “in recent years, especially with support of Iran for the political process in Iraq, and stability and security in this country, as well as the linkages between the two countries that formed in many years ago, all guarantee the expansion and strengthening of the relations between the two countries”.
Due to the background and deep political, cultural and religious ties between the two countries, Saudi Arabia or other countries can not affect the relations between Iran and Iraq. In general, the tensions in the region or other international issues can not affect the relations between the two countries, because political links affect the development of these relations.
