First Iran’s enriched uranium-free fuel complex to unveil in April

SHAFAQNA – Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi said that the country would unveil the first nuclear fuel complex with fuel similar to that of Bushehr nuclear power in coming months.

Iran would unveil its first fuel complex, whose fuel is similar to Bushehr power plant’s fuel on April 9, he said, adding that the fuel would be made without use of enriched uranium.

He also referred to Iranian nuclear rights, and said that the country would not give up its interests and national sovereignty.

Moving to November talks between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany, Salehi said, “The two sides have roughly reached a full agreement and agreed on general principles. The other side withdrew from the talks abruptly.”

Three days after extension of negotiations between the two sides, Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu acknowledged that Israel had hindered agreement with Iran. “The US Secretary of State John Kerry had said that we act in coordination with Israeli regime.”

Salehi said that the US and Israel believe that their interests are intertwined with disagreements on Iranian nuclear issue.

Iran stresses its rights on use of nuclear energy based on the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), and would never give up its rights, he said, adding the other side has recognized Iranian enrichment right.

“We agreed voluntarily to enrich uranium by five percent. Now we are discussing the volume of enrichment and our productions in one year period.”
