How to combat Satan?

SHAFAQNA – It is narrated from the Prophet of Islam who said: Prophet Moses(AS) was sitting down when Iblis (Satan) came to him. Moses (AS) said: Inform me of a sin that if it is committed by the human being, you will dominate that person. Iblis replied: Whenever the human being becomes selfish and considers his/her deeds as great and his/her sins as little [1]. It is also narrated from Imam Ali (AS) who said: Iblis told Moses (AS): O’ Moses (AS), do not go in private with a woman who is not Halal to you or Mahram to you because a man and a non-Mahram woman are not alone together except I personally and not my helpers am with them [2].
In another narration, the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) said: Shall I inform you of a deed which if you act on it, Satan will go away from you as east is far from west? They replied: Yes, please do so. The Prophet (PBUH) said: Fasting will turn Satan’s face black and charity will break his back, and loving for the sake of God and cooperating in good deeds will uproot Iblis, and repenting will cut Satan’s jugular vein [3].
