How to deal with profiteers in Islam?

SHAFAQNA – After appointing Malik Ashtar (RA) as the governor of Egypt, in a lengthy letter to Malik, Imam Ali (AS) wrote: Also Beware that among traders there are those who are bad traders and profiteers who only think about their own profits. And want to sell their goods at any (high) price they want, this is overcharging the customer and profiteering and is harmful to society as well as being bad for the ruler. Therefore, prohibit profiteering as the Prophet of Allah (SWT) did so. In Islamic society, buying and selling must be carried out justly with prices which does not harm the seller or the buyer. Punish the one who carries out with profiteering after you prohibited it, to be a lesson for others, but do not overdo it [1].
