SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Sistani answered a question about religious impurity (Najasat) of the disbeliever.

Question: If we know that a person is disbeliever but traditionally is considered as Muslim for example identifies himself as Muslim in application form; must such a person be considered as disbeliever (Kafir)?

The Grand Ayatollah Sistani: If the person denies prophethood or whatever has been preached to people by the Prophet (PBUH) on behalf of God which requires denying the Prophet (PBUH) even though in the abstract, is Kafir and Najis.
