What did Imam Sadeq (AS) say about Norooz?

SHAFAQNA – Sheikh Toosi (RA) in the book of “Mesbahul Mojtahid” narrated from Mo’ala bin Khanis who narrated from Imam Sadeq (AS) who said: Whenever Norooz arrives, perform ablution (Qosl), and wear the cleanest of the clothes, and wear the best of perfumes, and fast on this day. And after recommended Salaats (Nafilahs), and after Dhuhr and Asr Salaats, perform two Rok’ats twice (with the intention of Norooz Salaat); for the first two Rok’ats, after Surah Al-Fatiha, recite Surah Al-Qadr ten times, and in the second Rok’at, recite Surah Al-Kafiroun, ten times.

In the second two Rok’ats, in the first Rok’at, after Surah Al-Fatiha, recite Surah Al-Ikhlas, ten times; and in the second Rok’at, after Surah Al-Fatiha, recite Surah Al-Naas and Surah Al-Falaq ten times. After Salaat, perform Shokr Sijdah (thanksgiving prostration to God) whilst reciting this Dua which (if all the conditions are right), God will forgive five (or fifty) years of sins, and that Dua is mentioned in Maftihul Janan (please refer to: Dua taught to Mo’ala bin Khanis by Imam Sadeq (AS) to be recited after Norooz Salaats).
