International Islamic gathering stresses need for Islamic unity

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association)- The 10th international Islamic gathering in Moscow underscored the need for consolidation of Islamic solidarity.

A ranking delegation from Iran including the Supreme Leader’s Advisor for international Muslim affairs Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri is participating in the event.

Religious scholars and clerics from 20 world countries including Iran, Russia, Turkey, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia and Iraq are taking part in the gathering.

Speaking in the gathering, Chairman of Russian Muftis Council Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin who is the organizer of the event stressed the necessity of promoting unity within the Islamic world.

He said it was the duty of all to work out schemes and tactics to establish unity among different Muslim communities.

Ayatollah Tashkiri, too, highlighted the need for revival of true Islamic values.

He also stressed the importance of adherence to religious values and education in settling present challenges in the Islamic world.
