Iran, china orchestras to perform jointly

SHAFAQNA - China Philharmonic Orchestra arrived in Tehran on Tuesday to hold a joint performance with Tehran Symphony Orchestra.

The orchestra was given a warm welcome by Ali Rahbari, the conductor and director of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra, Bahram Jamali, the director of Rudaki Foundation and Chinese Ambassador Pang Sen at the Imam Khomeini International Airport.

On arrival of the group, China Ambassador to Tehran Pang Sen, called the orchestra as among the most important Chinese groups and voiced pleasure of develping cultural ties between Tehran and Beijing.

“I believe the presence of the orchestra is a major part of this cultural interaction between the two countries” he said.

He also underlined the importance of the visit, saying “it is not just a simple visit and performance, but an opportunity for bilateral art discussions.”

The joint performance of Tehran Symphony Orchestra and Chines Philharmonic Orchestra is scheduled to be held in Tehran’s Vahdat hall on August 13 and 14.
