SHAFAQNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Sunday that Iran is prepared to further promote ties with China in all fields.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Zhang Ming.
Zarif said that the Iranian and Chinese presidents in their last meeting studied ways to further expand ties, the relevant sectors in both countries need to pave the way for implementation of the agreements signed by them.
Zarif hailed the Chinese positive role in nuclear talks with Group 5+1.
He said that both Iran and China have undertaken partnership in the international campaign against terrorism and extremism.
‘We have common concerns and are trying to prevent terrorist attacks.’
For his part, Zhang Ming said that Iran-China ties are increasing in all fields.
‘We believe that bilateral ties are strategic,’ he added.
Referring to the significance of the Silk Road revival and existence of important ideas for the corridor’s revival, he added that fortunately, the ideas have been welcomed by Iran.
The Chinese official appreciated Iran’s efforts in fighting terrorism, saying, ‘We should not allow the terrorists make advancement in Iraq and Syria because they will extend their operations to other countries.’
China welcomes comprehensive nuclear deal which will remove concerns, Zhang Ming said.
