Iran top general slam U.S. for using terror as a proxy

SHAFAQNA – One of Iran top general, Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan slammed the United States for its exploitation of terror and radicalism to power its proxy wars in the Middle East.

Addressing a ceremony in the Western province of Kurdistan on Saturday night, Pourdastan said that the Islamic Republic has faced different plots during its 36-year-old life. Noting that the enemy has waged a war against Iran in the past by accusing the country of violating the human rights and democracy, he said, “Today, the enemy has taken its mask off (its face) and we are facing new threats and should, thus, create the necessary capacities to defuse these threats.”

He declared, “Today, there is strong unity between the Shiite and Sunni brothers, but the world arrogance is deeply fearful of this unity.”

His remarks came after reports that the U.S. reportedly aided ISIS militants in Iraq by dropping aid packages north of Baghdad – the capital.

In October 2014 Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazzayeri also accused Washington of playing the terror game to support its imperialist agenda. He said, “The U.S. and the so-called anti-ISIL coalition claim that they have launched a campaign against this terrorist and criminal group – while supplying them with weapons, food and medicine in Jalawla region (a town in Diyala Governorate, Iraq). This explicitly displays the falsity of the coalition’s and the US’ claims.”
