SHAFAQNA- Iranian Interior Minister and Iran’s Foreign Minister called Pakistan to take urgent measures for release of hostage guards who were kidnapped at Iranian border with Pakistan.
Three days ago, 14 border guards, including IRGC intelligence officers, were kidnapped by terrorists on province of Sistan-Baluchistan, southeastern border with Pakistan.
On Monday evening, a number of local Basij forces and the border regiment forces stationed at a border post in Mirjaveh region in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan were abducted on after acts of treason and collusion involving an element or elements of the anti-Revolution groups who had infiltrated the country. Soon after Jaish al-Adl terrorist group claimed responsibility.
Iran’s Interior Minister, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli in a letter to his Pakistani counterpart called for his country’s security commitments to confront the evil terrorists and to exert all efforts to liberate Iranian border guards following the abduction of 14 Iranian border guards by terrorist mischief.
Referring to the abduction of 14 Iranian border guards by a terrorist group, Rahmani Fazli called for the Pakistani government to pay particular attention to its security commitments to prevent mob attacks from the territory of the country in attacking border posts and violated the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In this letter, Rahmani Fazli stressed “all efforts should be directed towards the release of the hostages, a firm confrontation with the terrorists and the prevention of repeat of such bitter and unpleasant events,” emphasizing that Islamic republic of Iran seriously respond to the terrorist group.
In his letter to Pakistani Interior Minister Shahriar Afaridi, Rahmani Fazli added” “In the framework of bilateral relations and the principle of good neighborliness, as well as security commitments between the two countries, joint operations are urgently needed to achieve the result.
Iran, Pakistan FMs hold phone talk over abducted border guards
A day after several Iranian border guards were kidnapped and taken across the border into Pakistan by a Takfiri terrorist group, Mohammad Javad Zarif made a phone call to his Pakistani counterpart Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi to call for swift and serious actions on the part of the neighboring country’s government to secure the release of the Iranian forces.
Mohammad Javad Zarif called for urgent measures by the Pakistani government to ensure the safety and health of the kidnapped border guards and to identify and arrest the elements of the terrorist incident, in accordance with the previous understandings and dialogues, in the course of this dialogue, emphasizing the need to ensure and enhance the security of the common borders between the two countries and the rapid return of all these border guards to Iran.
Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, with the extreme condemnation of this anti-human terrorist group and deeply regretted the incident, said, “All Pakistan facilities serve the necessary steps to find and arrest the elements of the incident and freedom and security of Iranian border guards.”
“These terrorist groups are considered enemies of the two nations, and the government of Iran and Pakistan, which are trying to disturb the friendly relations between the two neighboring countries,” said Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Irna reported
Iran urges Pakistan to instantly take all necessary measures to free Iranian abductees
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Bahram Qassemi has urged the Pakistani government to instantly take all necessary measures to free a group of Iranian border guards abducted by wicked terrorists.
“This afternoon, the foreign minister’s assistant on West Asia affairs asked the Pakistani ambassador that the country’s government immediately takes all measures to set free Iranian border forces and arrest the wicked terrorists,” he noted.
Qassemi said Islamabad is expected to do all it can within the framework of bilateral ties, the principle of good neighbourliness and commitments resulting from bilateral agreement and international law.
He said the Pakistani ambassador has been asked to relay the message to Islamabad and inform the Iranian foreign ministry of the response.
“Pakistani envoy expressed his deep regret over the incident and said he would inform Iranian officials about his country’s measures as soon as possible,” he said.
The spokesman said Iran’s ambassador in Islamabad has also met local officials and “called for serious action by the Pakistani government to free Iranian border guards and deal with Takfiri and terrorist groups who attack Iran’s border areas from Pakistan and carry out subversive actions, abduction, murder and crime.”
