Iraq’s vice-president hailed Iran’s support

SHAFAQNA – Iraq’s Vice-President Nouri Al-Maliki on Wednesday hailed Iranians unsparing support and aid for the people of Iraq noting they would never forget Iran’s help.

Maliki, the former prime minister of Iraq, made the remarks in a ceremony held to mark the 36th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution victory.

The ceremony was held at the Iranian Embassy in Baghdad with the participation of Iran’s Ambassador to Iraq Hassan Danaeefar and a large number of the Iraqi political figures.

The Iraqi official expressed hope that Tehran-Baghdad relation will reach its highest level in the future.

Iranians celebrated the victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution on February 11 both inside and outside the country.

Iran’s Revolution put an end to the monarchy of the US-backed Pahlavi regime in the country in 1979.
