SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – Presidential Aide for Cultural Affairs Hessameddin Ashna said a few points were made clear to the UK Prime Minister David Cameron during his meeting with the President Hassan Rouhani.
Talking to IRNA on Saturday, he said regional and international issues as well as bilateral relations were discussed during the meeting which took place in New York on September 24.
To a question on whether Cameron’s remarks in the United Nations General Assembly came as a result of the meeting, he said the meeting mainly focused on these three areas.
He said the two officials shared points of view on a number of regional and nuclear issues.
Turning to certain propaganda ballyhoo about the meeting, he said photojournalists were present in the meeting for one minute at the beginning of the session and then had to leave.
He noted that one minute was certainly not enough to get an overall view of the meeting and the discussions.
He regretted that some circles inside the country got the message the wrong way or suffered miscalculation.
The presidential aide hoped for the development of better understanding of the international propaganda machine to create the necessary atmosphere for confronting big global challenges.
He also said that removal of EU sanctions against Iran began prior to the meeting and it did not come as an outcome of the meeting.
