SHAFAQNA (International Shia News Association) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a decree issued on Saturday communicated the outlines of cultural and scientific policies to the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution (SCCR) in which he called for confronting enemies’ cultural invasion.
The Leader tasked SCCR with the duty of production of science, reform of life style, improvement of education and research as well as development of public culture and cultural engineering.
The leader also emphasized use of all opportunities and capacities for curbing threats and mischiefs with a wisely logical approach against the invaders’ disputes.
SCCR should do its best in confronting the enemies of revolutionany Islamic culture and pursue the country’s scientific and technological progress, he added.
Ayatollah Khamenei urged SCCR to follow development of country’s education system including the execution of Human Sciences Development Plan.
The Supreme Leader reiterated that the council should prioritize full and swift execution of decisions and their follow-up until achieving the desired results.
Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the council is also responsible for improving the quality and quantity of cultural products through proper policy-making.
“Serious pursuit into the country’s progress and expediting Iran’s scientific and technological movement is one of the top most priorities of the country with regard to which the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution plays a serious role,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
He added that the pace of the country’s scientific growth should not experience the slightest reduction under any pretext, rather it should speed up everyday and the council should play its role in supervising, improving and directing this momentum.
The Supreme Leader urged the council to deal more seriously with the issue of cultural engineering and renovation of Iran’s educational and scientific system, including education and higher education.
The Supreme Leader in his decree re-appointed 22 members of the SCCR and assigned three more members to the council.
Supreme Leader’s decree allows the appointees to serve for three years on the cultural body.
