Is constant soul-searching necessary?

SHAFAQNA – Imam Ali (AS) said: O’ people, prosperous is the one who by finding faults of his/her own soul avoids finding faults with others. And how prosperous is the one who pays attention to his/her own house and family, and eats Halal food, and is obeying God, and cries at own mistakes, and is always busy with himself/herself (evaluating own actions, attitudes, and conduct) and other people are safe from him/her [1].
