Is Khoms payable for pocket money? The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei’s Fatwa

SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered a question about pocket money and Khoms.

Question: I am student and my father gives me pocket money every week, and I save them in a bank account; must I pay Khoms?

The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: The money that your father has given you has no Khoms. But if there is an interest and is not used for life expenses by the end of Khoms year, Khoms for the interest is payable.
