Is visiting the holy shrines on foot acceptable?

SHAFAQNA – The following questions and answers regarding visiting (Ziarat) the holy shrines on foot are mentioned in the book of “Rahmat-e-Waase’eh” which is the collection of sayings by the late Grand Ayatollah Bahjat.

Question: Is it right to visit (Ziarat) the holy shrines of Ahlul Bait (AS) [infallible or not] on foot for very long distances?

Answer: If the walking is not harmful (to the person), for paying homage and commemorating, is better and more expressive.

Question: Is it acceptable to Imams (AS) the difficulties of going on foot (for Ziarat)?

Answer: If the person can tolerate it, yes; the best of deeds are the most difficult ones.
