Islam propagates peace as the main principle in international relations (Part Ten – Last Part)

SHAFAQNA – Regarding religious tolerance and freedom, it is also necessary to note the respect Islam has for followers of other divine religions, as mentioned in the holy Quran. Ayah 46, Surah Al-Ankabut says: Do not argue with the people of the book unless it is in the politest manner, say: We believe in what has been sent down to us and to you. Our God and yours is the same one and we are committed to observe peace before God.
Ayah 20, Surah Al-e-Imran says: If they should argue with you, then say: I have committed myself peacefully to God and anyone who follows me. Tell both those who have been given the book and the unlettered: Have you submitted? If they commit to peace, then they are guided and if not, you need only to convey the message.
Ayah 64, Surah Al-e-Imran says: Say: People of the book, let us follow the word that is acceptable to you and to us and that we worship only God and associate nothing with God, nor shall any of us take on others as lords instead of God. Ayah 62, Surah Al-Baqarah says: Those who believe and those who follow Judaism, Christianity and Sabeans, if they believe in God and the Last Day, and do good deeds, will be rewarded good by God, they will have no fear or sadness.
