ISNA/ Iran urges Saudi Arabia to watch out enemies’ plots

SHAFAQNA (International Shia News Association) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African countries Hossein Amir-Abdollahian recommended Saudi Arabia to watch out plots hatched by enemies of regional countries.

“We recommend Saudi Arabia to watch out plots of enemies of the region and do not ignore the chance of having positive role in the region,” he said.

“Remarks of Saud al-Faisal if cited precisely run counter to the atmosphere of diplomatic talks between the two countries,” Amir-Abdollahian said.

Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal has already claimed that Iran was “part of the problem, not the solution” in the Middle East, alleging that Tehran “cannot play any role in the region” if its policies remain unchanged.

The Iranian official continued, “Tehran, under the international law, is helping nation and governments of Iraq, Syria and region to fight terrorism.”

Amir-Abdollahian also called Yemeni developments as ‘internal issue’ in the country.

He also said if Riyadh had withdrawn its forces from Yemen, there would have been a political solution to crisis in the country and crack-down on people would have ended.

The Saudi foreign minister also accused Iran of having “occupying forces” in Syria despite the fact that Iran has firmly dismissed reports about its military involvement in Syria and Iraq, stressing that Tehran’s support for the two Arab nations is in the form of humanitarian aid and military consultation.

Faisal made the comments at a joint press conference with his German counterpart, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in the Saudi city of Jeddah.

While Riyadh and other Persian Gulf kingdoms are widely suspected of being the major sponsors of Takfiri terrorist groups, including the ISIL and al-Nusra Front, Saudi Arabia, along with Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, has now joined Washington’s so-called coalition against the ISIL Takfiri terrorists.
