Kashmir: Two die as CRPF gypsy hits motorcycle near Dal Lake

Two people died Saturday when a paramilitary CRPF vehicle hit a motorcycle and a car on Boulevard road.

The incident triggered protests by people who later torched the gypsy belonging to 144 battalion of CRPF.

The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Ashraf Hafiz, believed to be the motorcyclist, and a pedestrian Nadeem Ahmad Chapri.

In a statement issued to the press, police said the accident involved the CRPF Gypsy, a Swift car and motorcycle.

An FIR has been lodged and the drivers of the CRPF Gypsy and the Swift car have been arrested, the statement said.
