Learning lessons from previous generations

SHAFAQNA – It is narrated from Imam Hussain (AS) who said: O’ the child of Adam (AS), think and say to yourself, where have the kings and landlords of this world have gone? Those who built canals and towns, they left this world and passed away whilst they were really unwilling to leave this world. And another group took their places and inherited from them, and we also will join them soon [1]. It is narrated that one day Imam Hussain (AS) was passing by the palace of Aus and asked: Whose palace is this? They replied: Belongs to Aus. Imam Hussain (AS) said: If he could see and recognize the condition (circumstances) and the end of this world, he would have been eager in the hereafter to receive a loaf of bread instead of this palace (which he left in this world) [2].
