Lebanon to Host Int’l Quran Competition

SHAFAQNA – According to Lebanon24.com website, Quran activists from different Arab and Muslim countries are expected to take part in the contest.

It will be jointly organized by the Dar al-Ifta of Lebanon and the “Resolve and Salvation” Social Association.

Memorization of the entire Quran along with observation of the rules of Tajweed is the main category of the contest.

It will also include a research category featuring “peace in the Quran” as well as a Moderate Islamic Figure of the Year Award.

Encouraging people, especially the youth, to memorize, recite and contemplate the Quran is among the objectives of the Quranic event.

Last year, 32 contenders from various countries attended the competition, held on March 21-24.
