Louis Farrakhan: Sanctioning Iran is a big mistake

SHAFAQNA– During a solidarity trip to Iran, the leader of the religious group Nation of Islam (NOI), Louis Farrakhan, described U.S reimposing sanctions against Iran as a big mistake, adding that the United States cannot continue its unilateralism.

Louis Farrakhan made the remarks in a meeting with the Secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei in Tehran on Sunday, during which he also called the United States a big liar.

Farrakhan expressed happiness with his visit to Iran, saying the goal of his visit is to demonstrate real friendship with Iran.

Meanwhile, he said that the Americans have always been plotting against Iran and are seeking to create an internal enemy in Iran.

“I understand how the enemies have plotted against the Iranian people and I would like to stay alongside you to stop their plots,” he asserted.

The American NOI leader further condemned the US President Donald Trump’s support for the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman in the case of Khashoggi murder, saying that Trump and his son in law have investments in Saudi Arabia.

He called for unity among all Muslims in the face of enemies’ plots, saying “Satan seeks to divide Muslims and wants them to kill each other, while God tells us in the Quran to be united.”

The American religious leader went on to condemn Americans’ policy to use others as an instrument to reach their own goals, noting that the Americans did not remain loyal to the promises they had made to the domestic Indians.

He also noted that the Americans also betrayed former Libyan leader colonel Ghaddafi and finally toppled him, as they had done so to Saddam Hussain before.

“Today, I warn the American government that sanctioning Iran is a big mistake,” he said adding that the United States cannot continue its unilateralism.

Mohsen Rezaei, for his part, called for unity among all Muslims and formation of a anti-hegemonic movement in the West.

The Secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council noted as the US’s Donald Trump has put the Iranian nation in trouble, the Muslims need to unite and create an international movement.

He also said Iran sees the black Americans as part of the Islamic Revolution, pointing out that the after the seizure of the US embassy in Tehran back in 1979, the late Leader Iran Ayatollah Khomeini ordered the immediate release of black Americans and the women among the captives, which meant that the Islamic Revolution saw no problem with the black people of America, Mehr News.

Iranians to survive US sanctions through unity

Referring to the sanctions the US President Donald Trump has described them the most stringent sanctions the US has ever imposed on any nation, Louis Farrakhan who was addressing an audience at University of Tehran, pointed to the Qur’anic verse that “nothing happens, but by active or permissive will of Allah”.

“Hard trials are necessary to establish the truth,” he cited the Holy Qur’an.

“If you believe in the [Islamic] Revolution that was started by Imam Khomeini to make Iran that light that carries the will of God to the entire world,” he said, adding, ‘Then we should know that Allah is not going to place you a burden beyond your scope.”

“But Allah does not give you an assignment or a mission to establish his truth without backing you with the strength necessary for carrying out the assignment,” the leader of American Movement Nation of Islam said, IRNA reported.

The 84-year-old religious leader said, “So America is making it very hard for Iran to successfully carry out its mission, but if you have the strength to persevere under these hard trials, the victory will be yours.”

Trump has ordered the sanctions be put in place on November 4.

“And the great reward will be realized not only by you, but by your children during and after the sanctions.”

Farrakhan called on the Iranian people to maintain their solidarity in the face of the sanctions by overcoming the domestic divisions and differences.

“If you don’t work to end the division inside Iran, you will not survive the sanctions,” he said.

The division that has split the world Muslims into various groups, including Shia and Sunni, is a main reason that they are losing their strength.

“America is losing all over the world, and under President Trump, America is losing at a very quick pace,” Farrakhan said.

Trump has attacked the institutions that are pillars of the so-called democracy in the West, he said, adding, ‘The US has never been a democracy.’

‘It has always favored the rich, the powerful, the connected,’ the Muslim leader said.
