“Martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS)” Published in France

SHAFAQNA-A book titled “Martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS); Karbala Tragedy, 13 Nights of Commemoration” by Leila Sourani was published in France.

According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the book was published by Bayt-ul-Kitab Lebanese Publications in cooperation with the Iranian Cultural Center in France.

Copies of the book have been distributed in different Islamic and Shia centers in Paris on the occasion of the lunar month of Muharram.
It features discussions on 13 events during the nights that Imam Hussein (AS) and his family and companions spent in Karbala.
In the introduction of the book, the author explains her objective in writing the book and provides a historical-political analysis of the events that took place in Karbala during the first 13 days of Muharram.
The book is also an introduction to Shia beliefs and mode of life and tries to convey the message of Ashura through the art of narration.
The author has written some other books about Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and prayers and translated “The Greater Jihad” by Imam Khomeini (RA) into French.
