SHAFAQNA – Some Muslims living in Western New York are teaming with UNYTS to help save lives.
The Buffalo Chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA held a blood drive in Niagara Falls Saturday.
The group began their national Muslim For Life campaign back in 2011.
Ten years after the Septemebr 11th attacks, members wanted to make a positive impact across the country.
Their goal is to raise 10,000 liters of blood.
“Each bag of blood may help save three or more lives,” said Nasir Khan, Buffalo Chapter Muslim Community President. “So the idea was to save, potentially save, ten times more lives than were lost on 9-11.”
The group held more than 1,000 blood drives within the first three years of their campaign.
