Muslims offer prayers for victims of stampede in Saudi Arabia

SHAFAQNA – The National Chief Imam, Shiekh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu yesterday offered special prayers to the departed souls of Ghanaian Pilgrims who lost their lives during a stampede in Mecca.

This is line with Muslim tradition to pray for God’s mercy and forgiveness for the dead.

The spokesperson for the National Chief Imam Sheikh Arimiyaw Shwaib, in an interview with Radio Ghana said the occasion was also used to pray for peace and tranquility of the country.

Sheikh Arimiyaw Shwaib said it is not true that Pilgrims wish to die during Hajj.
