Nabeel Rajab’s appeal hearing postponed

SHAFAQNA – Nabeel Rajab’s appeal hearing was postponed to November 8, when the defense and prosecution are going to be expected to present their closing arguments.

This is the second such postponement in the appeal process against the prominent Bahraini human rights campaigner, who is challenging a 2-year prison sentence.

Rajab was convicted of “spreading false news” in July for discussing Manama’s rights violations with foreign journalists.

He faces an additional 15 years in prison over a range of other charges including those related to tweets criticizing the bombardment of Yemen and Manama’s use of torture.
