Pakistan had demanded UN that it should be added in nuclear supplier group because Pakistan has a 40 year long history of running safe civil atomic program. A senior Pakistani diplomat Khalid Hashmi while discussing a report of UN watchdog on Pakistan atomic energy said that Pakistan worked in collaboration with IAEA to secure its atomic program and they have conceived planning to secure its nuclear assets.

Diplomat said that Pakistan is facing acute shortage of energy and making use of all the available sources to cater the soaring demand of energy. He demanded that if Pakistan is included in nuclear supplier group it would be helpful for it to overcome its energy crisis.
