SHAFAQNA – The Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate (PJS) and the Forum of Palestinian Journalists (FPJ) have called on the media to boycott US vice president Mike Pence’s regional visit in protest at Washington’s position on Occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem).
In a press release, the PJS affirmed its adherence to the Palestinian national consensus on the need to boycott the US administration, its officials, embassies, consulates and institutions.
It called on all local, Arab and international media outlets working in Palestine and their journalists to boycott any official overt or covert meeting or news conference held by US envoys or officials with regional leaders in compliance with the Palestinian national position against the US administration, which “committed a crime against the Palestinian people and their cause by recognizing Occupied Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.”
For its part, the FPJ reiterated its rejection of US president Donald Trump’s decision on Jerusalem and his attempt to impose faits accomplis on the Palestinian people.
It also urged all media outlets not to cover Pence’s visit or any coming visit to be paid by US officials to the region.
