Parks Canada officials looking for missing climber

SHAFAQNA (International Shia News Association)- Officials with Parks Canada say they are currently undergoing a search for a climber who went missing on Thursday evening.

Safety specialists are searching for the climber in the area of the Polar Circus Ice Climbing route after an incident occurred along the route.

Rescuers were initially alerted to the incident on Thursday evening, but were unable to get on scene due to an avalanche hazard, poor weather, and a lack of light.

Parks Canada is attempting to get a helicopter into the air to help with the search as ground crews are unable to make any progress at this time.

Parks Canada Banff, Yoho, Kootenay and Jasper Visitor Safety Specialists and a Parks Canada Warden Dog Handler are all involved in the operation.
