Photos: More than 1000 Female students honored by The al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine

SHAFAQNA- Alkafeel: The al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine honors more than 1,000 female students in the fifth annual ceremony of the students wearing the Iraqi abaya.

Al-‘Ameed University of the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine has hosted on Friday morning the 21st of Rabi’ Thani 1440 AH, corresponding to December 28, 2018, the fifth annual ceremony to honor the female students wearing the Iraq abaya inside the university campus, which is held by the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine represented by the Division of the University Relations within the Al-Kafeel National Youth Project. The ceremony was attended by his eminence; the Senior Official of the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine Sayed Ahmad al-Safi and a number of its officials. The ceremony honored more than 1000 students from Babylon University and al-‘Ameed University as well as the Technical Institute in al-Musayyab District.

The ceremony started by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by the recitation of Surah l-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, then listening to the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine; Tune of Pride. Then, the Senior Official of the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine; his eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi delivered his speech on this occasion.

This was followed by the word of the participating universities delivered by Dr. Najeh al-Ma’mouri from the University of Babylon, stating “The spark of this work started from the University of Babylon more than seven years ago. The number of the participating female students then was only 57 students who were honored by the officials of the annual Zahra Festival. And this number is increasing every year despite the graduation of a large number of our daughters until it reached this number today. ”

This was followed by the word of the participating students, delivered by the student Noor Ja’far, in which she highlighted: “When a woman commits herself to the Lord’s commandment in regard of chastity and covering up her body, she must be an active element in the society alongside men to participate with him in the forums of science, knowledge, jihad, education and calling for the right religion, as hijab does not prevent her from all of this and do not obstruct her march.”

The ceremony also included delivering a poem about Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her) from the popular poesy by Mr. Ahmad al-Zameli, followed by a poetic participation by the child Mohamad Diya’ who recalled the blood of the Iraqi martyrs who fell in defense of the land and the honor.

At the end of the ceremony, all the participating students of those wearing the Iraqi abaya were honored.
