SHAFAQNA – The message to President Barack Obama is simple: Americans say he’s too easy when it comes to dealing with the Islamic State threat. And as a result, his foreign policy approval rating has hit a new low.
The CBS News/New York Times poll shows only 34 percent approve of how he’s handling foreign policy.
When it comes to terrorism, only 41 percent approve of how he’s handling it, while 50 percent say they disapprove.
More than half of Americans (57 percent) say he hasn’t been tough enough when it comes to dealing with the Islamic State. Only 31 percent say his approach is on the right track.
When broken down along party lines, 40 percent of Democrats say he hasn’t been tough enough, compared to 83 percent of Republicans.
