Prominent leader of ISIS detained by Egyptian army in Sinai

SHAFAQNA - Egyptian army detained Sunday a prominent leader of IS-linked Wilayat Sinai terrorist group in North Sinai’s Sheikh Zuweid, security sources said.

The sources who asked to remain anonymous revealed that Ahmed Abdullah Salmi is one of the wanted by the police in connection with the killing of a high-ranking policeman in Rafah city.

Salmi is the second prominent leader of the group to fall in the hands of police in two days after the arrest of Mustafa Shorbaji who was accused of terrorizing residents in the province.
