SHAFAQNA – At least 50 innocent Shia Muslims were detained after Faroqa Police of Sargodha District’s Sahiwal tehsil launched a crackdown on innocent Shia Muslims in what appeared to please the takfiri fanatics who attached peaceful azadar (mourners) on 10th Moharram Ashura procession in the Faroqa union council’s area.
Under the orders of biased and partial pro-takfiri Punjab government, Faroqa Police raided the houses of Shia Muslims and violated the privacy and sanctity of the chadar and char divari. At least 50 Shia Muslims were rounded up under the witch hunt.
Shia leaders and parties condemned the crackdown on innocent Shia Muslims. They said that Punjab government’s pro-takfiri policies encouraged the takfiri terrorists to blast in Wahga Pakistan area near Indian border. They said that police should arrest those who attempted to sabotage the peaceful Ashura procession in Faroqa.The arrests were made in Sahiwal tehsil that is part of Sargodha district while Punjab province has another Sahiwal that is also a district headquarter of Sahiwal District, Shiite News reported.
