SHAFAQNA – The final stage of the first edition of Quran competition for Iranian students residing in Europe began on March 4 at Imam Ali (AS) Islamic Center of Hamburg.
Mohammad Mahdi Momeni, in charge of the Iranian schools in Europe, America and Canada, said that the program began at 7 p.m. local time with the participation of Iranian students residing in 15 European countries, the teachers and principals of some of the schools as well as Iranian officials in Germany.
A clip featuring the guidelines of the Supreme Leader about learning the Quran was played at the beginning of the program.
Hojat-ol-Islam Ansari, the cultural deputy of the Islamic center, in an address to the ceremony stressed the importance of learning Quranic teachings and holding Quran competitions.
The program concluded with Tawasheeh performance by the Alghadir group.
Momeni noted that the participants compete on Quran memorization, recitation, Quranic concepts and Adhan (call to prayers).
