SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association)- On the occasion of Arbaeen (40th day after Ashura), a new radio channel called “Za’er” (pilgrim) will be launched in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq.

According to Baghdad.icro, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Hameed Husseini, head of the Union of Iraqi Media announced that the channel will broadcast programs for pilgrims in Persian and Arabic.

Dissemination of Ahl-ul-Bayt’s (AS) teachings is the main objective of the radio channel, he added.

The new channel will also provide pilgrims of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine in Karbala with information they need.

People from all over Iraq and the globe are in the holy city or moving toward it to participate in one of the world’s largest pilgrimages.

The Arbaeen march will persist until December 13th which marks the day of Arbaeen – or the 40 days after the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), Imam Hussein (AS).
