Religious differences not obstacles to break fast with Muslims, says minister

SHAFAQNA - Malaysians should not use their religious differences as obstacles to break fast with their Muslim friends during Ramadan, says Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Joseph Kurup.

He said the spirit of togetherness among each other had enabled them to sit together and enjoy the breaking-of-fast meal.

He added that the breaking of fast during Ramadan taught Malaysians the meaning of solidarity.

“We are responsible in shaping family and communal ties that are harmonious to ensure that people’s lives can be built and realised in the context of nation-building,” he said in a statement in today.
