Repenting must not be delayed

SHAFAQNA – Many narrations about repenting emphasize that repentance from sins must be hastened and not delayed [1]. It is narrated from Imam Jawad (AS) who said: Delaying repentance will cause vanity, and neglecting it will lead to insisting on committing sins and defiance of Divine Punishment [2]. Without doubt, the sins affect the heart in a way which gradually will develop into inward characters [3]; therefore, considering that the time is moving fast and the hereafter is approaching quickly, and today is the day of readiness and tomorrow is the day of prosperity or adversity; why wise and aware people should not make themselves ready to meet God by repenting and by carrying out good deeds before the opportunity is lost [4]?
