Review of the Google’s new innovation: Taste new 3D virtuality experience with Google Cardboards

SHAFAQNA – The virtual reality glasses made up of carton released in June at Google’s I/O Conference. Since then, the headset had been sold 500,000 units through several third-party vendors and continues to break records.

The project aroused such great interest that the company now thinks about doubling down on the headset.

The first thing that Google planned to do is to create Cardboard section on Play Store. Google Cardboard now has a selection of Cardboard-compatible apps and games. One of the most interesting features the application has that it allows users to experience virtual reality through Google Earth and YouTube.

Now that Google has its new Cardboard SDK for Android and Unity, it looks like that Google wants to get as much market share as possible by selling more Google Cardboards.
Google “Today we’re introducing Cardboard SDKs for Android and Unity. With both Android and Unity support, you can use the tools you already know and love “said in blog post.
Alongside of its friendly price tag of $20 to $25, Google also thinks its users very much and designed Cardboard application with customizing options. As the company is planning to broaden its Cardboard headset enterprise, it has decided to provide more personalization updates that will help users to customize their virtual reality headsets that will fit their needs.

“We also want to help you tailor the viewing experience to its unique optical layout. So early next year we’ll be adding a viewer calibration tool to the Cardboard SDK. You’ll be able to define your viewer’s base and focal length, for example, then have every Cardboard app adjust accordingly.” added Google.

24 current apps are ready to use with Cardboards on Play Store. So, if you want to use the application and try the new experience; all you need to do is pairing the Cardboard with a compatible Android smartphone, something that features a 5-inch HD display.

Even the virtual reality terminology is still new; the companies didn’t fall behind to use this innovation for their advantages. For example, Volvo used the Cardboard headsets at the LA Auto Show in order to enable visitors to perform a virtual test drive of its latest car models and Jack White and Paul McCartney have launched immersive music apps that are meant solely for the headset.
