Is it right to insult disbelievers?

SHAFAQNA – One day when Imam Sadeq (AS) was going to a place called Khada’een, a man who knew Imam (AS) and his slave also followed Imam (AS). In the middle of the way, that man noticed that his slave was not there, and called him three times, but could not find him. When his slave came to him after a while, he became angry and asked: O’ the son of the unchaste woman, where have you been? When Imam Sadeq (AS) heard this sentence, hit his forehead with his hand, and said: Sobhan-Allah; you accuse his mother to be unchaste?! I thought you were a pious man. That man replied: May my life be sacrificed for you! Mother of this slave is a disbeliever, and there is no problem to accuse a disbeliever of adultery! Imam Sadeq (AS) replied: Are you not aware that each ummah (nation) has its own particular marriage ceremony (Nikah), and they cannot be insulted even if they are disbelievers [1]?!
