What is the ruling for Buying and selling cheques / the Grand Ayatollah Khamenei’s answer

SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered a question about buying and selling cheques.

Question: In general, what is the ruling for buying and selling cheques?

The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: It is allowed to sell cheques which are due at a specified date for more or less than its inserted amount. What it is not allowed is that a person borrows an amount and instead gives a cheque with a specified date and for more than the borrowed amount. This action is usury borrowing, and it is Haram, although it is not improbable that the original loan is correct.
