Why self-accountability is essential for the believer?

SHAFAQNA – The great Islamic scholar, Allamah Tabatabaei (RA) said: During 24 hours, allocate a time for your own self accountability, and see how you have spent your 24 hours. Make sure you are accountable, as the merchant, the trader, calculates his income and expenses, and his export and import; you see what you have saved within the past 24 hours. What you have said, evaluate your every word and behaviour; (then) avoid the inappropriate ones and make sure they are not repeated. And give thanks to God for those appropriate ones which were based on logic and wisdom in order that gradually you get used to these Divine Morality [1].
