Semi-annual Halal Food and Clothing Drive hosted by the Muslim Families Network Society

SHAFAQNA – Groceries, clothes, and other household items are being distributed by Calgary’s Muslim community to those in need.The Muslim Families Network Society is holding its city-wide Halal Food and Clothing Drive. The drive happens twice per year.

Chairwoman Idrees Khan tells City News the society has been helping 800 – 1,000 people for the past seven years.“Muslims always believe in charity and charity is what we have; we have to share it with other people. That’s how we have been given the guidance by our Prophet,” Khan said.

The charity event caters to underprivileged children and families in the Muslim community and anyone in need.
