SHAFAQNA – International agencies have sais members of the ethnic community have fled from the western Rakhine state over three weeks since October 9. They arrived in neighbuoring Bangladesh and were settled in make-shift camps. The IOM says those who fled have reported gang rape, torture, and murder at the hands of Myanmar’s army and security forces. Dozens of Rohingya reportedly died on Sunday night after their boats capsized in a border river. It happened when Myanmar’s army troops on speedboats opened fire on passengers aboard two boats. Bodies of women and children that were washed ashore were marked with bullet wounds.
